Noah Purifoy Foundation

If you do not know the name Noah Purifoy, you will come to know it during your visit to Joshua Tree. Noah moved to Joshua Tree and lived in a trailer within the 10-acre site of the Outdoor Museum, which established Joshua Tree as his grounds for beautiful outdoor sculptures. The Noah Purifoy Foundation was established in 1998 and has since worked to preserve Noah’s art pieces.

Of course, learning all about the incredible artwork of Noah Purifoy is nothing compared to seeing his masterpieces in person. You can now do that by visiting the Noah Purifoy Outdoor Sculpture Museum located right here in Joshua Tree. The museum has helped maintain a variety of Noah Purifoy’s incredible pieces and keep them on display. These unique pieces utilize various metal and common objects to create works of art. Some pieces of Purifoy’s assemblage art is on display at world-renowned institutions such as The National Gallery of Art, The  Museum of Modern Art, and the San Fransisco Museum of Modern Art, but you can see his unique pieces on display right here in Joshua Tree here at the Noah Purifoy Outdoor Sculpture Museum.

 

Finding the Noah Purifoy Outdoor Sculpture Museum

The Noah Purifoy Outdoor Sculpture Museum is now open and can be found at 63030 Blair Lane right here in Joshua Tree. Docent guided tours are available to the public and provided by the Noah Purifoy Foundation. The museum is open from sunup to sundown and friendly dogs are permitted. It is important to note if you decide to bring your dog, they must be leashed, well-behaved, and monitored.
